Sledding

Probably the world’s longest toboggan run

The Wildkogel Ski Arena already has everyone on its side as “probably the friendliest ski area” in Austria.  And now, with what is probably the world’s longest toboggan run, the Ski Arena has yet another record-setting highlight to add to its belt.  But before you zoom down the hill, let the Wildkogel lifts carry you and your hot-rod sled comfortably up to those lofty elevations (sledding pass: adults EUR 7.00/children EUR 3.50).

After a short 15-minute walk towards the Wildkogelhaus and the start of the run, it’s time to get things going!  On a hill which covers the better part of 14 km, you’ll drop some 1300 vertical meters on your descent to Bramberg.  Everything is allowed that goes downhill – no matter whether that’s a speedy racing toboggan, a more relaxing sled, or a stylish-looking bob. Depending on your ability level, the ride lasts anywhere from 30 – 50 mins.

By the way: as of this year, the entire length of the run is floodlit until 10:00pm – adding that extra special kick to the night!

Toboggans, sleds and bobs can all be borrowed at the reception.

Wildkogel Lifts – Hours of Operation:

TIP – The Wildkogel Lifts now have new evening hours especially for sledders:
Every Tuesday and Friday until 06:30 pm. Ski shuttle leaves the Bramberg village square at 6:00pm, Ski shuttle departs the Flieger-Bichl Restaurant (at the end of the toboggan run) at 8:00 and 9:00pm –free service to Neukirchen. Prices: Euro 8.- per adult/youth, Euro 4.- for children - the extra evening ride is not included in the ski pass!

As you enjoy sledding, please be sure to obey these simple rules:

  • Always hold onto the toboggan by the rope/handle to avoid unnecessarily endangering your fellow sledders or losing your toboggan altogether
  • Stop by the reception to find out about snow and weather conditions
  • In order to truly enjoy the ride, appropriate clothing is necessary.  Especially for children (ages 3, 4 or up), we recommend ski glasses, a scarf, hat, ski pants or leggings, gloves, sturdy boots – no ski boots.  Children 6 and under should always ride on the same sled as their parents!  Tip: sledding is much safer for youngsters when they wear a helmet!
  • The free ski shuttle will get you back from Bramberg to Neukirchen

Kühnreit Toboggan Run
