The Hohe Tauern National Park is Austria’s largest national park with 1800 km². It is particularly beautiful because it is unique in terms of flora and fauna. The biodiversity in the Hohe Tauern National Park is great. From red deer to chamois, you will find animal species here that you would not otherwise meet in the wild.
Some of Austria’s highest peaks are located in the national park area. The Großglockner with its mighty 3798 m and the Großvenediger with 3666 m are located in the core zone.
The Kitzbühel Alps or Pinzgau Grass Mountains are located on the sunny side of Neukirchen am Großvenediger and can be reached either by foot, mountain railways or mountain bike.
The cable cars Wildkogelbahn Neukirchen, Smaragdbahn Bramberg, Panoramabahn Kitzbühel and Dorfbahn Königsleiten take you to lofty heights.
