Wildkogel Area

For winter and snowshoe hikers

The new winter hiking trail on the Wildkogel, which connects the mountain stations of the Smaragdbahn, the Wildkogelbahn and the Gensbichlalmbahn, takes you into the white winter splendour. So you can also explore our local mountain on foot or with snowshoes.

No matter where you start – at the mountain stations of the Wildkogelbahn or the Smaragdbahn – the magnificent panorama of the many 3000m peaks of the Hohe Tauern and the “highest Salzburg”, the Großvenediger (3,666 m), will amaze you. Let yourself be treated to typical Pinzgau delicacies along the winter hiking trail on the cosy panorama terraces of the mountain restaurants.

  • Walking time: approx. 1 hour, one way
  • Tip: The summit of the Wildkogel is also a great hiking goal in winter.
