Winter in the Mountains

Your morning starts off relaxed – after all, it’s often the little moments of indulgence that make the day special: a well-stocked breakfast table to set you up before you hit the slopes, or set off on a snowshoeing or winter hike with our hiking experts. While the fresh mountain air gives you rosy cheeks – or you’re getting properly cosy in our 1,200 m² spa – we’ll set the table for you: for a fine five-course dinner. And in between? Take some time for proper alpine hut classics, a warming tea or a hot chocolate in the lounge – and a nightcap at our hotel bar.

After a good breakfast, you grab your winter sports kit, take a deep breath of the fresh mountain air and can hardly put your joy into words as the first rays of sunshine gild the peaks in Hohe Tauern National Park. After a short ride on the e-LINER to the valley station, you’re already in the gondola to the Wildkogel Arena, clip into your bindings at 2,100 m above sea level and off you go.

Here in the Kitzbühel Alps, it’s the many small details that make your day complete: the quiet stretches where the only sound is the soft song of your edges. The sunny spells that warm you. The cosy hut terrace, which invites you to enjoy a soup, Kaiserschmarrn or simply to linger. If you fancy it, you can squeeze in another one or two runs and take the valley run back to the hotel in the afternoon. You set the pace; the Wildkogel Arena provides the backdrop.

Those who set off as a family to explore the mountains will quickly find their very own winter bliss with us – from the hotel in the Kitzbühel Alps straight into the heart of the Wildkogel Arena, with short distances and plenty of space to play, learn and be amazed. Standing on skis for the first time, hurtling together down the world’s longest floodlit toboggan run, building snowmen in the Hotel Gassner’s garden, leaping for joy, doing somersaults and falling into bed at night happy and content.

Indoors, our warm indoor pool with coloured lighting and a whirlpool, the dress-on sauna and many little favourite cosy nooks to snuggle up in await you. Later, you sit down together at the set table, treat yourselves to culinary delights and round off the day with a games night in the living room. For sleeping, choose what suits you – from cosy rooms to suites, with practical combinations for families. We are happy to provide baby essentials such as a cot and high chair on request.
