Does Hotel Gassner use regional products?

Yes – many of our products come from regional producers within about 60 km: fresh bread from the Schroll bakery, meat and sausage products from the Rumpold and Schöppl butchers, game from our own hunt and fresh fish from the Grundner family in Leogang. In addition, we offer milk and cheese products from PinzgauMilch and herbs from our organic herb garden.

Many delicacies are also homemade in-house – from jams and syrups to herbal salt and little treats you can take home.

Wellness + SPA

What facilities can I expect at the Crystal and Garden SPA?

Relax in the color-light indoor pool with whirlpool and dress-on family sauna, at the natural pool Blausee with cozy relaxation islands, or in one of the quiet rooms.
In our Adults-Only sauna world you’ll find themed saunas, a steam bath, infrared loungers, Kneipp pool, ice fountain, a beautiful relaxation room, as well as a small juice and snack bar. For extra pampering, soothing massages and body treatments can be booked at reception.

Is there an area for adults only?

Yes – our Adults-Only sauna area is a nude zone with different themed saunas, a steam bath, Kneipp pool, ice fountain, infrared loungers, and a stylish relaxation room with mountain views. A small tea lounge with selected teas, juices, and snacks also invites you to linger and enjoy.

Do I need to bring a bathrobe or slippers?

A packed wellness bag with towels will be waiting for you in your room. Cozy bathrobes in sizes M and XL as well as children’s bathrobes (sizes 104 to 176) are available at reception. Feel free to bring your own slippers – if you forget them, you can purchase a pair at reception.

Activities + Experiences

What’s included in the hiking service?

From Monday to Friday, we accompany you on at least five guided hikes per week – in both summer and winter. Our hiking service package also includes a rental backpack in your room, hiking poles, snowshoes, maps, and the best tour tips. In summer, the National Park Summer Card with numerous included services is also part of the package price.

Which ski resorts and hiking regions are nearby?

In winter, the Wildkogel Arena awaits you right on the doorstep – with 75 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes, a valley run directly to the hotel, and a children’s practice lift right next door. For even more variety, you can easily reach the Zillertal Arena or the KitzSki area in a short time.

In summer, you’ll enjoy the diversity of the Hohe Tauern National Park and the Kitzbühel Alps. The Wildkogel Arena offers you a fantastic “Alpine cinema” with panoramic trails, a slide path, mountain carts, and numerous summit tours. In the National Park valleys, you’ll find themed trails, high-alpine tours, and authentic nature experiences. Our best tips come straight from us – we’re happy to share our favorite spots with you.

How far is it to the Wildkogelbahn valley station?

The free E-Liner shuttle takes you from the hotel to the valley station in the morning and afternoon. In between, the E-Liner runs every 10 minutes from the Eggerfeld baby lift (directly in front of the hotel) to the Wildkogelbahn.

Can you ski directly to the hotel?

Yes, the 1,200 m valley run from the Wildkogel ends right behind our hotel – wonderful, isn’t it?

Can I rent sports equipment from you?

Yes, we provide the essentials free of charge, such as backpacks, hiking poles, snowshoes, sleds (for a small fee), or child carriers. If you’d prefer to leave your own gear at home or want to try something special, our sports partners in Neukirchen offer high-quality equipment like e-bikes, skis, or snowboards. If you’d like us to arrange a guide or mountain guide, just let us know.

Families + Children

What activities are available for children at the hotel?

Our younger guests can enjoy a playroom with a Clic-Clac table, game computer, and wall games. Board and family games are available to borrow in the Jagastüberl. In summer, the forest playground behind the hotel invites kids outdoors with a low ropes course, nest swing, zip line, and giant trampoline.

Which excursions are especially recommended?

Our region is a true family paradise in both summer and winter. For a quick overview, take a look at our excursion tips. For personalized recommendations, it’s best to stop by our reception.

Can I borrow strollers or child carriers from you?

Of course! Depending on availability, we’ll be happy to provide strollers and child carriers free of charge for the duration of your stay. To make sure we’re prepared, it’s best to let us know when you book if you’ll need them.

Are dogs allowed at the hotel?

Your four-legged friend is very welcome with us – just let us know in advance so we can reserve a suitable room for you. The price is €25 per night. In your room, your dog will find a comfy mat, towels, and a food bowl waiting.

Where is my dog allowed in the hotel?

Dogs are welcome to accompany you in the winter garden, the Stüberl, and at the hotel bar – but not in the dining room or our spa. Our kind request: Please keep your dog off the bed and sofa, so the linens stay pleasantly hair-free for all our guests.

Why are dogs not allowed in the Treehouse?

Since there is a wildlife feeding area located directly under the Treehouse, a holiday with dogs there is unfortunately not possible. We’ll gladly reserve you a cozy room in the hotel instead.

Extras + Service

Do I have access to Wi-Fi?

Yes – free of charge throughout the hotel. All the necessary information can be found in the room directory.

Can I buy vouchers from you?

Absolutely! We’re happy to wrap your voucher as a gift or send it directly to the address of your choice. And if you’re in a hurry, you can also order our vouchers online.

What special Gassner extras are there?

In addition to the backpack in your room, the National Park Summer Card (summer) or Winter Card (winter), and the Guest Mobility Ticket for buses and trains, you will also receive a small farewell gift from us when you check out.

In our hotel shop, you’ll also find homemade products such as jams, herb salts, and incense blends, along with lovely souvenirs like tea mugs, water bottles, lunch boxes, or beanies – perfect for your stay with us and to take home.

Nature + Environment

Is the tap water in the hotel drinkable?

Yes – our water comes from the Blausee spring and can be safely enjoyed straight from the tap. In your room, you’ll find a glass carafe with a pine sphere that gives the water a subtle natural aroma.

How does Hotel Gassner care for nature and the environment?

We focus on resource-friendly energy and water use, biomass heating from the local district heating plant, and careful waste separation. With the National Park Summer Card or the Guest Mobility Ticket, you can also travel eco-friendly by train and bus – or switch to gentle mobility during your stay.

Can I contribute myself?

Yes – if you choose to skip daily room cleaning during your stay, we’ll plant a tree on your behalf through the “Trees for Tomorrow” association as a thank-you. You’ll also find waste separation options in the rooms and hallways.

What care products are available in the room?

We rely on the zero-waste care line from Team Dr. Joseph: vegan, skin-friendly, and rich in natural active ingredients. Hand soap and shampoo/shower gel are provided in a fabric pouch (“Nimm mi mit” – Take me with you), which you’re welcome to take home after your stay and finish using – a small, sustainable gift from us to you.
